<p>A tampon (101) having an insertion end (105) and a withdrawal end (106), and a withdrawal string (104) extending from the withdrawal end (106), said tampon (101) comprising a fibrous absorbent tampon body (102) comprising multi-limbed viscose fibres, said tampon body (102) comprising an inner core (108) and an outer absorbent structure (109) surrounding said inner core (108), said inner core (108) being more dense than said outer absorbent structure (109).
