<p>A switch allows operation of vehicle accessories, permits use of the vehicle and/or starts it, on reception of an electronic safety code. This switch is located in the safety belt fastener. The switch is a manually-operated start/stop switch, actuated by inserting the safety belt tab in the catch or by pressing its holding section on the belt, to start or stop the vehicle engine. The switch is constructed as a push button operated by hand pressure. Ignition is switched on, only when the brake of an automatic vehicle (or alternatively a clutch) is not operated. There is a further button-operated switch in the safety belt catch, producing a safety signal indicative of safety belt use. The electrical steering lock is operated via e.g. the door contact, or a speed signal. Preferably it is unlocked via specific electrical terminals. Should emergency operation be required when the battery is flat, transponder communication is provided for this purpose.</p> |
