<p>A method and apparatus for providing an improved user interface for a wireless communication device (100) is described herein. The wireless communication device (100) comprises a main body (104) including a first user interface (142), and a movable cover (102) including a second user interface (144). When the movable cover (102) is closed relative to the main body (104), the movable cover (102) conceals at least a portion of the first user interface (142). To provide some of the functionality associated with the first user interface (142) without having to open the movable cover (102), the present invention maps a soft key (106) associated with the second user interface (144) to a function assigned to a selected control or key of the first user interface (142).</p> |
