<p>A cosmetic dispenser (10) for producing an axial movement of a cosmetic between extended and retracted dispositions. A cam member (14) is rotatably engaged with an adapter member (12) in a mating relationship. An elevator member (16) with a cosmetic retaining portion and an elevator rod (36) move axially in response to a rotation of the cam member (14) in relation to the adapter member (12). A proximal end of the elevator rod (36) can be received through an elevator aperture (22) in the adapter member (12) to enable a sliding of lugs (38) on the elevator rod (36) along a helical thread (54) of the cam member (14). Frictional drag between the cam member (14) and the adapter member (12) can be produced by one or more drag protuberances (26) therebetween. Where the drag protuberances (26) project from the adapter member (12), a thin wall portion therein can enable a resilient deflection of the drag protuberances (26).</p> |
