A method and an apparatus for correcting color registration are provided to successfully perform color registration correction irrespective of the partial badness of an intermediate transfer belt. A color registration sensor member measures the surface state of an intermediate transfer belt(S300). A control member confirms whether a bad section of the surface state exists in the sections of the intermediate transfer belt(S310). If the difference value between the offset voltage level and the voltage level of the reflection pattern is above the threshold value, the control member confirms the existence of the bad section and stores the position information of the confirmed bad section in a storage device(S320). It is determined whether the color registration correction is able to be performed by using the other good sections on the intermediate transfer belt except the bad section(S330).
