A novel marine bacterium is provided to reduce the production costs of antifreeze proteins and produce a large quantity of antifreeze proteins. The marine bacterium Moritella dasanii ARST 4-04-09(KCTC 10814BP) is provided, wherein 16S DNA of Moritella dasanii ARST 4-04-09(KCTC 10814BP) has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1. An antifreeze additive contains Moritella dasanii ARST 4-04-09(KCTC 10814BP). A method for mass producing the antifreeze proteins comprises the steps of: (i) inoculating the Moritella dasanii ARST 4-04-09(KCTC 10814BP) in a culture medium; (ii) culturing it at -10 to 10 deg. C for 24 hours or more; and (iii) recovering the antifreeze proteins from the cultured medium, wherein the culture medium is MB(Marine broth), DMB(diluted marine broth), nutrient broth(NB), DNB(diluted nutrient broth), tryptic soy broth, Zobell's broth, DZB(dilute zobell broth) or their modified medium.
