A mobile communication terminal having a telephone number searching and storing function in accordance with call reception/origination frequency and a controlling method thereof are provided to arrange telephone numbers generated through call reception and origination in a phone book, in order of frequency of use to store the arranged numbers, thus a user can quickly and easily search frequently used telephone numbers. A telephone number storage(308) stores telephone numbers in order of high frequency of use. A program memory(302) stores a telephone number arrangement program which arranges the telephone numbers according to the frequency of use. A key input unit(304) includes more than one button for enabling a user to search and select the stored telephone numbers. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)(306) arranges the numbers in order of the high frequency of use if a telephone number search request is received, so as to display telephone number lists. A microprocessor(316) arranges the numbers in order of the high frequency of use by using the program, and stores the numbers in the storage(308).
