A transflective LCD and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to significantly reduce the width of a black matrix, by alternately disposing reflective parts of adjacent pixel regions and positioning data lines in the reflective parts of pixel regions. A plurality of pixel regions are defined between first and second substrates, wherein each of the pixel regions has a reflective part(A1) and a transmissive part(A2). The reflective parts between adjacent pixel regions are alternately disposed. Gate lines(102) are formed on one surface of the first substrate. Data lines(120) are formed across the gate lines, wherein each of the data lines is disposed in the reflective part of an adjacent left or right pixel region. Thin film transistors are formed at crossing parts of the gate lines and data lines, wherein each of the thin film transistors is disposed in the reflective part of a corresponding pixel region. A black matrix is formed on one surface of the second substrate, wherein the black matrix is disposed correspondingly to each boundary between the transmissive part and the reflective part.
