An image sensor diagnosis method of a camera phone is provided to allow the camera phone to check whether an image sensor malfunctions on the basis of read/write operation results through an I2C bus in camera mode so as to notify a user of the checked results. When a camera mode is set by a user, a camera phone reads a particular camera register value to read/write the camera register value from/in a memory(S1-S3). If it is decided that the read value is a preset specific value, the camera phone normally conducts a preview and capturing function for a taken image(S4,S5). If it is decided that the read value is not the preset specific value, the camera phone outputs an image sensor error message, and disapproves of performance of a function related to an image sensor(S7-S10).
