An LCD is provided to prevent the damage of inner component parts, thereby extending the lifetime of the LCD, by detecting the overcurrent flowing into a driving circuit and then minimizing the effect of the overcurrent. An LCD comprises a protection circuit(110), wherein the protection circuit includes an overcurrent detecting circuit part(112), an overcurrent control command part(114), and a power supply control circuit part(116). The overcurrent detecting circuit part detects the overcurrent of a driving circuit. The overcurrent control command part outputs a control signal according to the detected result of the overcurrent detecting circuit part. The power supply control circuit part supplies an electric power to the driving circuit by the control signal. |
