A sliding type portable terminal is provided to minimize a connection line width of a flexible circuit which electrically connects a main housing to a sliding housing and to maximize the reliability of a product by installing only a speaker and a display unit at the sliding housing. A sliding type portable terminal comprises a main body housing(10), the first sliding housing(20) and the second sliding housing(30). The first sliding housing(20) opens/closes an upper surface of the main body housing(10) by moving over the main body housing(10) while continuing to maintain a state that the first sliding housing(20) faces the second sliding housing(10). The first sliding housing(20) always hold a force to be opened away from the main body housing(10), and automatically moves to a set distance if the first sliding housing(20) is released from a restriction state with the main body housing(10). The second sliding housing(30) faces the first sliding housing(30) over the main body housing(10) and releases a restriction state of the first sliding housing(20) through a sliding movement.
