<p>The invention relates to a composition meant to be used for producing acoustical ceiling tiles and panels through a water-felting process and to acoustical tiles made therefrom. According to the invention, the composition comprises dehydrated lime sulphate, cellulose fibers, a lightweight aggregate material and a binder where there are at least 15% by weight dehydrated lime sulphate and at least 13% by weight cellulose fibers in relation to the dry solid substance, where the binder is starch which is present in an amount varying from 3 to 15% by weight in relation to the dry solid substance while the lightweight aggregate material is expanded pearlite which is present in an amount of at least 25% by weight in relation to the dry solid substance and the cellulose fibers are paper fibers which are present in an amount varying from 13 to 30% in relation to the dry substance.</p> |
