An optical disk storage device having an automatic bidirectional tilt compensation device is provided to automatically conduct tilt compensation for both a tangential direction and a radial direction of a disk according to a bending degree of a substantially inserted bad disk, thereby compensating the best optical axis angle for any kind of bending disks. A spindle motor(33) is mounted on an upper side of a deck base(31). An optical disk(35) rotates by being set on an upper side of a turntable(34) of the spindle motor(33). A pickup unit(36) for recording or reproducing data from the optical disk(35) is guided by one pair of shafts(37,37') of which both sides are individually supported on a tilt base(32), and is installed to do straight reciprocating motion. A stepping motor(38) for moving the pickup unit(36) is installed on the tilt base(32), and a lead screw(39) is combined at a rotational shaft of the stepping motor(38) in an axial direction.
