An apparatus for measuring horizontal and vertical distances of an excavator is provided to further improve an accuracy of an excavating work according to measuring the distance by rotating a vertical distance measurement 90 degrees. In an apparatus for measuring horizontal and vertical distances of an excavator, a case(1) is installed on an inner surface of an arm(82) of the excavator. An additional reception unit(2) is formed on one side of the arm. A vertical measuring tape(3) is wound in the case. A horizontal distance measurement unit(10) includes horizontal and vertical measurement units to measure widths of a ground work portion.
