An automatic opening/shutting apparatus for a domestic window is provided to maintain a locked state of the window regardless of an opened degree without requiring a dedicated locking unit, thereby improving reliability of the product. An automatic opening/shutting apparatus for a domestic window(14), which automatically opens and shuts the window using a pinion(23) and a rack(31) rotated by a motor(21), comprises a box(10), a rack plate(30), and a locking unit(40). The box has therein the pinion rotated by the motor, and is fixed to a framework(12). The rack plate automatically opens and shuts the window through the rack fixed to a window sash(15) and meshed with the pinion. The locking unit being in the box fixes the window using a gearing unit(44) built and meshed with the rack. In addition, the locking unit gets the gearing unit separated from the rack while the motor is operating, so that the window can be opened and shut. |
