Provided is a method for mass producing metal nanoparticles featuring a high yield and a uniform particle distribution, by utilizing a nonaqueous solvent to simplify the production at reduced costs. The metal nanoparticles are prepared by dissolving a metal compound in an amine compound, and adding an alkanoic acid and a hydrocarbon compound to the dissolved metal ion solution. Examples of the metal compound includes a metal selected from the group that consists of Ag, Co, Ni, Au, Pt, Pd, and Fe, and the metal compound is selected from the group that consists of AgNO3, AgBF4, AgPF6, Ag2O, CH3COOAg, AgCF3SO3, and AgClO4. Preferably, 20-40wt% of the metal nanoparticles contain alkanoate molecules(RCOO-). |
