Provided are a polymer electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell which can be operated at a high temperature, improves the reaction velocity of a fuel cell and inhibits the catalyst poisoning due to carbon monoxide, its preparation method, a fuel cell system containing the polymer electrolyte membrane. The polymer electrolyte membrane comprises 1-20 parts by weight of an inorganic ion conductive salt combined with a metal; 100 parts by weight of a conductive cation exchange resin; and optionally an inorganic additive selected from silica, clay, alumina, mica and zeolite. Preferably the inorganic ion conductive salt combined with a metal is selected from phosphotungstic acid, silicotungstic acid, zirconium hydrogen phosphate, alpha -Zr(O_a1 PCH_a2 OH)_a(O_b1 PC_b2 H_b4 SO_b5 H)_bÀnH2O, alpha-Zr(O_a1 POH)ÀH2O, (P2O5)_a(ZrO2)_b, P2O5-ZrO2-SiO2 glass, etc., and is combined with Cs. |
