Classes 92(ii) and 119 A cartridge magazine a having curvilinear side walls tapering slightly towards one another and united by curved front and back plates, is characterized by the provision of guide elements d along the side walls for maintaining a helical compression spring c in the arcuate form corresponding with the contour of the magazine. In the form shown the magazine is of sheet metal suitably pressed to provide the elements d, and in a modification the elements are welded on to the inner surfaces of the side walls.
