An apparatus for testing a step valve and a method for the same are provided to save an inspection time by performing an inspection of the step valve using an automation device. An apparatus(1) for testing a step valve(7), the step valve selectively discharges an operational fluid through at least two tubes by a control signal. A motor controller(22) controls an operation of the step valve. A sensor unit(19) senses a flow of the operational fluid moved along the tube of the step valve. A control unit(20) transmits a control signal to the motor controller to control the step valve when an abnormal state of the step valve is determined by receiving a signal of the sensor unit. And, an operational unit(24) is connected to the control unit to directly input a test condition of the step valve by an operator.
