摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear protection controller of a hybrid vehicle for protecting a pinion of a planetary gear mechanism from excessive rotation when normal traveling is shifted to a traveling mode to facilitate a countermeasure to a motor failure on the basis of the occurrence of the motor failure. <P>SOLUTION: This hybrid vehicle in which an engine E, a first motor generator MG1 for power generation and a second motor generator MG2 for driving are connected to a rotary element of a power dividing mechanism TM by a planetary gear mechanism is provided with a gear protection control means (figure 5) for, when normal traveling is shifted to a traveling mode for driving a vehicle by the power of a power source excluding a defective caused by the occurrence of the motor failure of either the first motor generator MG1 for power generation and the second motor generator MG2 for driving, controlling the number of rotation of a power source excluding the defective motor so that the pinion P of the power dividing mechanism TM of the planetary gear mechanism can be prevented from being excessively rotated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
