<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device using an ozone generator having relatively low ozone generating capability for generating ozone to efficiently burn PM collected with a filter or others. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device comprises a collection device 6 arranged on an engine exhaust passage for collecting particulate matters in exhaust gas, the ozone generator 21 for generating ozone, and an ozone adsorbent 22 for adsorbing the ozone. At least part of the ozone generated by the ozone generator is adsorbed by the ozone adsorbent, and the ozone adsorbed by the ozone adsorbent is desorbed therefrom and supplied to the collection device when removing the particulate matters collected with the collection device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
