PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collapsible chair, simple in structure and constructed in a compact manner. SOLUTION: A seating surface support member 7 is provided with a locking projection 10a and a turning shaft 12. A folding member 14 moved in a body with a seating surface 9 is provided with an elongated hole 15 fitted to the turning shaft 12 to be turned and moved in the longitudinal direction, and a locking recessed part 16 opened in the same direction as the longitudinal direction of the elongated hole 15. When the seating surface 9 is in the seated attitude, the longitudinal direction of the elongated hole 15 is vertical and the locking recessed part 16 is fitted to the locking projection 10a from above, whereby the folding member 14 is disabled from turning to the turning shaft 12. When the folding member 14 is lifted upward together with the seating surface 9 to release the engagement of the locking projection 10a and the locking recessed part 16, the folding member 14 can be turned around the turning shaft 12 together with the seating surface 9 to be folded.
