The packing has a sealing area (14) in which two layers of a packing material (12) are connected with each other by an adhesive (16). The sealing area comprises a section (18) in which adhesive force of the adhesive is reduced. The sealing area of the packing is provided with a sealing strap. Each of the layers of the packing material comprises a folded edge and an opposite side edge. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a sealable packing.
