A method for data transmission between baseband process unit and radio frequency process unit, includes: predefining the format of packet used to store the same type of data, and packaging the same type of data into the same packet when data is received, then determining the interface transmission rate of the transmission component according to the rule that the bandwidth of transmission component is larger than the total bandwidth of packets. While an adapter used for transmission channel between baseband process unit and radio frequency process unit includes a packet defining transmission module, a packet total bandwidth determining module and an interface transmission rate determining module. The present invention implements the data transmission between baseband process unit and radio frequency process unit using a single transmission component in different service data rate, and the flexibility of the transmission data format is increased, the selection range of transmission component is increased, and the flexibility of data transmission is further enhanced.
