OPTICAL ADD-DROP MULTIPLEXER AND OPTICAL LEVEL CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical add-drop multiplexer and an optical level control method for eliminating a tilt of all wavelengths in spite of a small number-component configuration and carrying out optical level control in following to variations in an upperstream node.

SOLUTION: The optical add-drop multiplexer includes: an optical amplifier section 102 that amplifies a multiplexed light received from an optical transmission line 110; a filter section 103 that is provided at the post stage of the optical amplifier section 102 and drops and adds an optical signal with an optional wavelength in the multiplexed light; a line interface section 106 that receives a network monitor signal light and acquires information of noise level generated at the upperstream of the optical transmission line 110 and line information comprising information with the number of wavelengths of the multiplexed light; and a level adjustment section 105 that adjusts the optical level of the optical signal added from the filter section 103 to be equal to the optical level of each optical signal of the multiplexed light on the basis of the optical level of the multiplexed light amplified by the optical amplifier section 102, the information of the noise level caused by the optical amplifier section 102, and the line information acquired by the line interface section 106.
