<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a red-eye area from a high-definition image under an environment having a limit of resources can be used in an embedded system in digital camera or printer. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing method repeats a process of dividing a prescribed number of band images in turn from a reduced image so that overlapped areas are present between adjacent band images after generating the reduced image of an input image (S3302), and a process of detecting red-eye areas for each band image (S3303), until the final band is processed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
