<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant sensing system where the sensing result does not effect a change according to a sitting state of the occupant sitting on a seat. <P>SOLUTION: The occupant sensing system has an antenna electrode 1 disposed at a seating part 20 of a seat 2 for a vehicle, a guard electrode 3, and a power supply means 4 sensing the seating of the occupant on the seat 2. The sensing of the occupant on the seat is performed based on the electrostatic capacity between the antenna electrode 1 and the floor of the vehicle in such a state that the guard electrode 3 negating the electric field of the front surface side of the seat 2 of the antenna electrode 1. The occupant sensing system can sense the occupant even if the state of the occupant on the seat is changed, since it does not directly sense the occupant on the seat. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
