PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine oil composition excellent in high temperature cleanliness and also in low fuel consumption characteristics. SOLUTION: The engine oil composition has (B) an oil-soluble molybdenum-containing composition and (C) a molybdenum-based friction regulating agent incorporated in (A) a base oil mixture containing a base oil (a) that has kinematic viscosity at 100°C of 2-50 mm<SP>2</SP>/s, a viscosity index of≥80 and a sulfur content of <0.03 mass% and a base oil (b) that has kinematic viscosity at 100°C of 2-50 mm<SP>2</SP>/s, a viscosity index of≥60 and a sulfur content of≥0.03 mass%. Based on a total amount of the engine oil composition, the content of the base oil (b) is 0.1-15 mass%, the content of the oil-soluble molybdenum-containing composition (B) is 10-1,000 ppm by mass in terms of molybdenum, and the content of the molybdenum-based friction regulating agent (C) is 100-1,000 ppm by mass in terms of molybdenum.
