PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To color favorably without the problem of dispersibility to thermoplastic resin, and moreover superior in transparency and color reproduction, and to improve it in thermal resistance, light stability, electrostatic property, and offset-proofing. SOLUTION: This is the electrophotographic toner, contains at least one kind of metal chelate pigments expressed by general Formula (1) in thermoplastic resin. The general Formula: (1) M(L<SB>1</SB>)(L<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>(X<SB>1</SB>)<SB>m</SB>(X<SB>2</SB>)<SB>l</SB>×W<SB>1</SB>, (where M denotes bivalent metal ion chosen from among Cu, Zn; X<SB>1</SB>and X<SB>2</SB>represent one or two seat ligand, each independently; X<SB>1</SB>and X<SB>2</SB>may be connected; L<SB>1</SB>and L<SB>2</SB>independently represents two or three seat ligand, having absorption from visible to infrared light, and they may be the same or different from each other).
