PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining device of simple structure and a machining method of simple order for machining a flat work piece. SOLUTION: In place of a conventional machining method of machining a flat workpiece, this machining method is provided with: a preparation process of preparing a machining tool for cutting the workpiece and a pushing member to be brought in contact with the workpiece; a cutting process of cutting the workpiece with the machining tool, and a push-in process of moving the pushing member, being brought in contact with the face of the workpiece, along a cut line of the workpiece formed by cutting, while crushing the workpiece.
