Substituted aryl pnictogen derivative compositions having the structure of <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?>[R<SUB>f</SUB><SUP>1</SUP>-(C<SUB>t</SUB>R<SUB>(u+v)</SUB>)]<SUB>m</SUB>E(O)<SUB>n</SUB>(C<SUB>t</SUB>R<SUP>1</SUP><SUB>(u+v+1)</SUB>)<SUB>(3-m)</SUB><?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?> wherein E is phosphorous, arsenic or antimony; R<SUB>f</SUB><SUP>1 </SUP>is a fluoropolyether chain; C<SUB>t</SUB>R<SUB>(u+v) </SUB>and C<SUB>t</SUB>R<SUP>1</SUP><SUB>(u+v+1) </SUB>represent aryl groups, n is 0 or 1 and m is greater than about 0.5 to about 3. Such compositions have utility as additives for high temperature lubricants.
