<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element for preventing reliability in the optical element from decreasing by the disconnection of an electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The optical element 100 comprises a first semiconductor element 170 and a second one 160. The first semiconductor element includes semiconductor layers 116, 117, 118; a first-conductivity-type first electrode 131a and a second electrode 131b that drive the first semiconductor element and are formed at mutually separated positions at the upper part of the semiconductor layer; and a second-conductivity-type third electrode 132 for driving the first semiconductor element. The second semiconductor element 160 includes a first-conductivity-type fourth electrode 121 for driving the second semiconductor element, and a second-conductivity-type fifth electrode 122 for driving the second semiconductor element.
