PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain color gamut contours in other color spaces when total amount restriction is provided in a device color space with high precision, at high speed and a low cost in addition to guaranteeing that a device color signal on the color gamut contours comprised of the device color space is unique and to further control precision of the color gamut contours under the total amount restriction. SOLUTION: An upper half contour and a lower half contour are constructed by an upper half contour construction part 11, a lower half contour construction part 12, respectively, by contour points which satisfy a limiting value of the total amount of color materials set by a setting part 3 of the limiting value of the total amount of color materials among contour points on the color gamut contours in the device color space. In addition, a regulation contours used as the limiting value of the total amount of color materials is constructed by a regulation contour construction part 13 and the color gamut contours in the device color space which satisfy the limiting value of the total amount of color materials are calculated by the upper half contour, the lower half contour and the regulation contour. The color gamut contours in an optional color space are calculated by converting the contour points on the color gamut contours into color signals in the optional color space by a color space conversion part 2.
