PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing CMC-Na which reduces microgels with suppressing reduction of viscosity and change of viscosity behavior of an aqueous solution of the CMC-Na. SOLUTION: In the method for producing CMC-Na, microgels presenting in the aqueous solution are reduced by irradiating ultrasonic waves to the aqueous solution of the CMC-Na.
