PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration-damping rubber composition excellent in dynamic characteristics and mechanical strength and also excellent in heat resistance and weathering resistance and to provide a vibration-damping rubber article. SOLUTION: The composition comprises (A) an ethylene/3 to 20Cα-olefin/nonconjugated polyene copolymer satisfying (1) a specified amount of ethylene-derived units, (2) a specified amount of nonconjugated polyene-derived units, and (3) a B value of 1.05 or smaller, wherein the B value=ä([EX]+2[Y])/2×[E]×([X]+[Y]) (wherein [E], [X], and [Y] are the molar fractions of ethylene, the 3 to 20Cα-olefin, and the nonconjugated polyene, respectively; and [EX] is the ethylene-3 to 20Cα-olefin diad chain fraction)}, (B) a specified alkoxysilane compound, and (C) a specified amount of finely divided silicic acid and/or silicate having a specific surface area of 5-100 m<SP>2</SP>/g.
