The parlor has a working area for an operating person, and a platform (4) forming a base and/or bearing surface for an animal to be milked, where the platform is raised relative to the area. The platform has a substructure (14) at a side facing to the area, where the substructure spares a building space below the surface. The substructure is formed by identically formed supporting frame units arranged in series in a running direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a milking parlor.
