An array substrate and a display device having the same are provided to protect a starting signal wire and a gate circuit part from static electricity, by forming the starting signal wire to overlap a connection wire, which connects the gate circuit part and the starting signal, to increase the resistance of the starting signal wire. A plurality of pixels are defined by gate lines and data lines. A gate circuit part(130) outputs gate signals to the gate lines. A first signal wire is formed adjacently to the gate circuit part, and transmits a starting signal for starting the drive of the gate circuit part. A plurality of second signal wires(143,144,145) are formed at one side of the first signal wire, and transmit control signals for controlling the output of the gate circuit part. A plurality of first connection wires(161,162) electrically connect the gate circuit part and the second signal wires across the first signal wire.
