PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink capable of mitigating the dependency on image quality of recording media and giving a high quality image stably.

SOLUTION: The ink for inkjet recording contains carbon black and a salt. The carbon black is a self dispersible carbon black having a hydrophilic group: -COO(M2) (wherein, M2 is a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, ammonium or an organic ammonium) bonded to the surface of the carbon black through a substituted or nonsubstituted phenylene group. The salt is represented by Ph-COO(M1) (wherein, M1 is ammonium; and Ph is a phenyl group).
