SYSTEM FOR ESTIMATION OF MUSCLE ACTIVITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for extracting an estimated value of the quantity of activity of muscles or the quantity of movement of lower limbs of a user doing exercise without giving physical restraint or pain to the user or without local restraint.

SOLUTION: The system is characterized by a pressure sensor disposed in such a position as can measure the pressure generated in a specific region of the sole of the user and a processor for extracting the quantity of activity of one or a plurality of muscles or the quantity of movement of the lower limbs based on the output from the pressure sensor. The processor extracts the quantity of activity of the muscles based preferably on the output from the pressure sensor and the previously computed correlation coefficient between the output and the quantity of activity of the muscles or the quantity of movement of the lower limbs.
