<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber module capable of increasing productivity of cell culture, by efficiently recovering cultured cells, when the cell culture is conducted by using the hollow fiber module, and to provide a method for culturing cells using the same. <P>SOLUTION: This hollow fiber module is used for culturing the cells and has a hollow fiber bundle which is made of a material having a function as a semipermeable membrane and is used for supplying the cells existing in an extracapillary space (ECS) with an essential component for growth, by circulating a culture solution through an intracapillary space, and a housing for receiving the hollow fiber bundle. Further, the hollow fiber module for culturing the cells has such a structure that an optional part of the housing is detachable and attachable and at least a part of the hollow fiber bundle is exposed to the outside.
