PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steep dive stop device of a building shutter capable of making the detection of a stop operation by the steep dive stop device in the building shutter providing the steep dive stop device to a take-up shaft for making the opening and closing of a shutter curtain. SOLUTION: The steep dive stop device of the building shutter is so constituted that a case body C of the steep dive stop device 7 is outside fitted to a screwed front end section 15a screwed of a fixed bolt 15 placed to a left side mounting bracket 2, the steep dive stop device 7 makes stop operation of the take-up shaft 4 to stop the turning occurred in the case body C by the screwed front end section 15a and that the detection of the stop operation of the steep dive stop device is made by making the detection of variations in load acting on the screwed front end section 15a with a strain gauge 16.
