PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handy-type cap-tip removing device capable of simply, surely, and stably removing a cap tip fitted on the front end of a shank of a resistance welding machine or a welding gun. SOLUTION: The handy-type cap-tip removing device removes a cap tip 20 fitted on the front end of a shank of a welding machine. The device comprises: a fixed pawl 21a, which is mounted on the front surface side of a box-shaped device body 1 and brought into close contact with the lower end part of a shank 21; a movable pawl 21b, which is brought into close contact with the upper end part of a cap tip 20; a connection bar 3, which is elongatedly arranged in the back of the movable pawl 21b; and a driving mechanism, in which the cap tip 20 is separated from the shank 21 by operating a manual lever 5, and which is arranged on the upper surface of the device body 1 to turn the connection bar 3 so that the movable pawl 21b is pushed down away from the fixed pawl 21a.
