PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent folding of an end of a printing paper sheet, by increasing a frictional force between a folding roller device and the printing paper sheet with simple structure, in regard to the folding roller device disposed to a newspaper rotary press folding machine or the like. SOLUTION: The folding roller device of a folding machine has a pair of folding rollers 10, 11 opposed to a folding trunk 2 rotating and having a circumferential face provided with a needle 5 for locking a front end of the sheet 1 and a folding blade 6 for pushing the center part of the sheet 1 out circumferentially outward so as to fold the sheet 1 pushed out by the folding blade 6 to form a signature by using a nip part. The folding rollers 10, 11 are rotated in synchronization with rotation of the folding trunk 2, and a cutout part is formed by cutting out only a specific part interfered with the needle 5 of the folding trunk 2 in a circumferential direction of circumferential faces of the folding rollers 10, 11.
