Disclosed are a functional beverage/food which can produce a normal keratinization promoting effect for the skin through oral intake and a promoter of the differentiation and keratinization of an epidermic cell for use in the functional beverage/food or the like. The promoter of the differentiation and keratinization of an epidermic cell comprises, as an active ingredient, a fermented milk whey produced by fermenting milk with a bacterium including a lactic acid bacterium (e.g., Lactobacillus helveticus), and the functional beverage/food comprises the promoter.
