The drive unit has an oscillation body (2) supporting the finishing head (6) and mounted by articulated joints (3,4,5) in a frame to be movable in a plane. Between the oscillation body and frame is at least one piezo actuator (7) which can set the oscillation body oscillating in the plane relative to the frame. The oscillation body is pretensioned against the force action of the actuator through a spring element (9). The oscillation body (plate), frame and articulation joints can be made from the same or different materials.
