A three-dimensional recognition system of a parking lot and a control method thereof are provided to park conveniently by easily gaining stripe image for detecting three-dimensional position of a rear part of a vehicle, and to minimize distortion of the position against disturbance by using infrared rays without interference. A three-dimensional recognition system of a parking lot includes a camera(12) connected to a human machine interface(15) displaying information to a driver to take a picture of a rear image of a vehicle, a light source generator(11) projecting a light source to the rear part of the vehicle, an image processing machine(14) processing image obtained by the camera, and a control unit(13) controlling the camera and the light source generator. The light source generator projects the light source with wave length within the range of infrared rays.
