PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin-film magnetic head capable of obtaining a desired projected profile and minimizing the number of terminal electrodes on an element forming surface, a magnetic head assembly, and a magnetic disk drive unit. SOLUTION: The magnetic head is provided with a magnetic head element and at least two resistive heating elements designed to project an end surface (end surface of an ABS side) facing a magnetic recording medium and different from each other in resistive temperature coefficients (TCR).
