PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-shielding nonwoven fabric forming a strong carbonized film in combustion and suitable for mattress and upholstered furniture having good processability, texture and touch and excellent designing freedom and provide upholstered furniture and mattress produced by using the fabric and having extremely high flame resistant performance in fire hazard. SOLUTION: The flame-shielding nonwoven fabric contains (A) 40-90 wt.% cellulosic fiber incorporated with a flame retardant, (B) 10-30 wt.% polyester fiber and (C) 0-50 wt.% cellulosic fiber as the fiber constituting the nonwoven fabric provided that the sum of the fibers (A), (B) and (C) is≥85 wt.%. A flame-shielding nonwoven fabric containing (D) 40-90 wt.% cellulosic fiber containing silicic acid, (B) 10-29 wt.% polyester fiber and (C) 1-50 wt.% cellulosic fiber wherein the sum of the fibers (B), (C) and (D) is≥85 wt.% is used for protecting the inner structure member of mattress and upholstered furniture.
