PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain block with an auxiliary motor assisting rotation of a hand wheel in response to the size of a load generated in the hand wheel, in the chain block with the auxiliary motor. SOLUTION: This chain block 10 has a mechanism reducing the load when lifting a cargo by driving the auxiliary motor 21 connected to the hand wheel 17 of the chain block 10, and has a torque detecting mechanism 18 detecting the load generated in the hand wheel 17 when lifting the cargo and a control device 22 controlling rotation of the auxiliary motor 21 in response to the size of the load detected by the torque detecting means 22, and can thereby quickly lift the cargo by little force without generating an unnecessary load in the hand wheel 17.
