PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly functional upholstery exhibiting a healing effect being good for the health or the mental stability for a resident and/or having a good design so as not to attract an attention to a scratch or a dirt. SOLUTION: The highly functional upholstery is produced by carrying out the pressure impregnation of an infusion containing a fragrant substance, an infusion containing a deodorant, an infusion containing an antimicrobial agent, an infusion containing a coloring agent and/or an infusion containing a catcher agent for eliminating toxic substances such as formaldehyde and a VOC into a timber used as a substrate.
